The Pacific Dermatologic Association was founded in 1948 for educational and scientific purposes and to provide opportunities for the exchange of information and advancement of dermatological knowledge among physicians.

Membership is drawn from physicians practicing in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming together with physicians in Mexico, Alberta and British Columbia, Canada along with the Pacific Rim countries including but not limited to Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Philippines, North and South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Call for Cases: 2009 Clinicopathologic
Conference (CPC)
The PDA is looking for high-quality cases to be presented at the Nickel/Winer Dermato-pathology CPC, to be held during the PDA’s 61st Annual Meeting next August in Portland, Oregon. One of the most popular sessions offered at each PDA meeting, the CPC will feature the presentation and discussion of the clinical and histopathological correlations of interesting and cutting-edge dermatology cases. Young Investigator Award Available for 2009 Meeting
The Victor D. Newcomer Award is open to physicians currently enrolled in a graduate dermatologic training program or physicians that have completed their training less than 5 years ago. Any clinical research, basic science research or clinically focused review may be submitted for consideration for this award. The author of the winning entry will receive a cash prize of $500 in addition to reimbursement of expenses to present the paper at PDA's 61st Annual Meeting.

Starting in January 2009, PDA members will receive a bimonthly email newsletter that will feature articles covering a wide variety of dermatologic topics, cases and practice pearls. The publication will also include an "Area 51" column covering presentation of unique cases (authored by Dr. Bruce Ragsdale), articles from speakers at PDA's upcoming Annual Meeting and promotion of our 2009 program in Portland.
