2011 MEETING OVERVIEW

PDA is currently planning its 63rd Annual Meeting, scheduled for August 10-14, 2011 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

The Annual Meeting includes plenary sessions with both practical and cutting-edge talks on a wide range of medical and surgical dermatologic topics. In addition, the popular Clinicopathologic Conference (CPC) features presentation and discussion of the latest clinical case studies in the field of dermatology.

The last Annual Meeting attracted over 225 attendees from around the US and abroad to Pasadena, CA for four days of top-level educational programming. Members receive significant registration discounts to the Annual Meeting (from $100 - $250).

COEUR D'ALENE RESORT - SOLD OUT!

Please be advised that, as of Monday, June 20, the PDA has completely filled up our room block at the Coeur d'Alene Resort and no additional reservations are being taken at this time.

Please note that we do expect to be provided with a handful of additional rooms for meeting attendees after July 10. If you have not yet made room reservations, we recommend that you take both of the following steps:

1. If you are interested in being placed on a Wait List for a room at the Coeur d’Alene Resort when they become available, please call the PDA at (888) 388-8815 or email pda@hp-assoc.com and indicate your anticipated arrival/departure dates and preferred room type (i.e. King bed, two queen beds).   Requests for rooms will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Make a reservation at PDA’s overflow hotel – the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Coeur d’ Alene.  We have set up a room block at this property (www.cdahie.com), which is 2 miles/5 minutes from Coeur d’Alene Resort.  The hotel is located at 2300 West Seltice Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.  Shuttle service will be provided at regularly scheduled intervals. The hotel is a $7-10 cab ride to and from the Coeur d’ Alene Resort.  The rate at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Coeur d’Alene is $139 per night.  For reservations, please call (208) 667-3100 and be sure to reference "Pacific Dermatologic Association" to receive the discounted room rate.

All social activities and special events are open to physicians who are registered for the meeting and their spouse/guest. Advance registration is required for all special events where noted, however,a minimal number of tickets may be available on site.

Greet your friends and colleagues at the Opening Reception while enjoying cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres. Badges will be required for entry. The Welcome Reception is open for Physicians, Residents, Office Staff, Spouses and Guests who have registered and have paid the required registration fees.

Cost: $99 per adult; $50 per child (18 & younger)

Join the PDA for a memorable two-hour sunset cruise, complete with entertainment, beverages and a dinner buffet prepared by the chefs at Coeur d’Alene Resort. Join us as we skirt secluded coves, cross the main body of Coeur d'Alene Lake and return under a romantic canopy of stars and moonlight. Registration Required.

Home of the worlds only floating green, the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene. The course has won a number of awards and has been ranked in the Top Ten Resort golf courses in the country, including an extraordinary #1 ranking in the category of "Beauty and Esthetics" by Golf Digest. As an extra added treat, players will be transported to the course by a 5 minute speedboat ride right from the hotel's dock. Prizes will be given to members for Low Gross and Low Net. TENNIS TOURNAMENT: THE COEUR D'ALENE RESORT GOLF COURSE - TENNIS COURTS
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Cost: $35 per person

Enjoy some afternoon competition in a challenging round-robin doubles format with courts that sit right on the banks of beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene. Players of all ability and skill level are invited to participate. Players will be transported to the courts by a 5 minute speedboat ride on the lake right from the hotel's dock. BIKE THE CENTENNIAL TRAIL AT COEUR D'ALENE
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Cost: $45 per adult; $30 per child (12 & younger)

Coeur d'Alene has some of the finest bike trails in North America. Bike tours are a great way to explore the area, take in its beauty and get in some exercise!  Biking Coeur d'Alene is perfect for all ages and will sure to be a unique experience you will enjoy. Ride from downtown along Lake Coeur d'Alene on an easy, paved trail to Higgins Point and back.  Learn about the cultural and natural history of Coeur d'Alene and the lake and relax knowing all the details are taken care of. SILVERWOOD THEME PARK & BOULDER BEACH WATER PARK
2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cost: $55 per adult; $40 per child (7 & younger)

Come enjoy the Northwest's Largest Theme Park! Silverwood has over 65 rides and attractions, from raging roller coasters and insane 65 mph drops to rides built for the little ones. Boulder Beach Water Park is so big it's like visiting a theme park inside a theme park. Featured at Boulder Beach are Avalanche Mountain, Boulder Beach Bay, Velocity Peak, Polliwog Park, Rumble Falls, Elkhorn Creek and Toddler Springs. Transportation is provided. Registration Required! WHITEWATER RAFTING ON THE SPOKANE RIVER
2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cost: $75 per adult (must be 6 or older to participate)

Spokane rafting is one of the most exciting activities you can do in the area. Whitewater rafting the Spokane River will provide thrills and fantastic scenery. Our experienced guides will river raft you through up to class III rapids on the Spokane River.  During your Spokane rafting trip you will float through Riverside State Park and raft through the famous Bowl and Pitcher and whitewater raft your way through the Devil's Toe Nail! Make your day special with a fun 4 hours of adventure and whitewater through the lower Spokane River gorge. Transportation is provided. Registration Required! Limited to the first 40 registrants.

KIDS CAMP

PDA Kids Camp will be offered at the 63rd Annual Meeting. The Coeur d'Alene Resort will be providing the Kids Camp and children ages 5 to 13 years old are welcome to participate. The PDA will be subsidizing the cost of participation. Registration is only $100 per child and covers all 4 days!

REGISTRATION FEES & INFORMATION

++ Limited to one person per registrant

Registration for members, non-members, residents and office staff entitle admittance to all exhibits and social activities. The spouse/guest registration entitles admittance to the social activities and the exhibit hall. Tickets are required for the President’s Dinner and all Special Events & Activities. Indicate the number of tickets you desire on the registration form and include the fee in your check or credit card payment. Advance registration is required in order for badges and tickets to social activities to be available at the time of arrival. A limited number of social activities will be available to those who register on-site. There will be no provision for partial registration or refunds for social activities not attended.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
Registration fees, less a $25 administration fee, will be refunded following the meeting upon written notice of cancellation to the PDA headquarters office. In order to qualify for a refund of fees, cancellation notice must be received in writing no later than Wednesday, June 25, 2011. There will be no refund of fees for cancellation received after that date or for lack of attendance without notification.

ACCREDIATION STATEMENT

Attendees will receive evaluation forms for all the sessions at the meeting. Please fill out the forms completely and deposit them in the collection box at the registration desk.

AIR TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION

AIRPORT INFORMATION
The Coeur d'Alene Resort is located 40 minutes east of the Spokane International Airport (GEG). Spokane International Airport has nearly 125 flights per day and is served by the following carriers: Alaska, American West, Delta, Horizon, Northwest, Skywest, Southwest and United. TRAVEL INFORMATION
Recommended transportation from the airport to the resort is via scheduled shuttle with the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The cost is $59 round trip (adult) and $10 per child (ages 1-11). Attendees can schedule their shuttle pickup when making their hotel reservations or by calling the Resort's transportation department directly at (800) 688-5253 x7133. It is recommended that attendees re-confirm their flight arrival and pickup time with the transportation department no later that 7-10 days prior to the meeting and also contact them if any of your flight details change.

Car rental is also available at the Spokane International Airport. Please note that taxi service is available from the airport but is approximately $100.
